The closest subway is the 6 to 77th Street; the M79 crosstown bus’s Madison Avenue stop is right in front of the building from either direction; the M1, M2, M3, and M4 buses stop right around the corner; or a cab or car directed to “79th and Madison” should stop very near the Library.

The main part of the building, including event spaces, are fully accessible. There is a lift at the front door for anyone for whom stairs are an impediment. Staff assistance is needed to operate the lift; anyone who needs the lift is requested to ring the doorbell at the front door or to call the main desk at 212.288.6900 x200 when you arrive.

There is an accessible all-gender restroom for event attendees on the first floor, in addition to restrooms in other parts of the building.
